There has been a probe into the activities of stake holders in the petroleum industry in Nigeria which started at 11:00am Wednesday Jan, 2012.
Following the subsidy removal by the Federal Government, and the unified calls for the sanitising of activities of the NNPC, along with petroleum marketers and importers that led to a N1.3trn subsidy for petrol in 2011, the National Assembly has commenced a public hearing on the matter.
A report by KPMG in 2010 highlighted several loopholes and disturbing facts about the transactions in the petroleum industry.
