The Aliyu Wamakko’s administration in Sokoto State has constructed/renovated 66 road projects across the state at the cost of N25 billion.
Gov. Wamakko made this known at Fanare village during the commissioning of some of the road projects by his Kano State counterpart, Rabiu Kwankwaso yesterday.
He said, “providing motorable roads is important in the socio-economic lives of the state,” adding that all local governments had benefited from the road projects.
He said from 2007 to date, his administration had completed 23 roads at the cost of N7.9 billion, across the three senatorial districts while 43 on-going projects had cost the government N17.1 billion, across each of the local government areas.
The roads being commissioned, he continued, formed part of the completed ones, which gulped about N1,541,632,853.58.
The roads commissioned by Governor Kwankwaso included Fanare-Lokobi-Yarume, Kalambaina-Wamakko-Gumbi-Arkilla and metropolitan Kaduna, Wurno, Kontagora and Clapperton roads.
